◉ Product Introduction

CPVC Extruded Sheet

I. Basic Definition

CPVC extruded sheet, also known as chlorinated polyvinyl chloride extruded sheet, is a thermoplastic engineering sheet made primarily from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) resin through a high-temperature melt and extrusion molding process.

Compared to ordinary PVC, CPVC resin undergoes an additional chlorination modification process, significantly increasing the chlorine content (typically from 56% to 63-67%). This fundamental chemical structural change endows it with higher heat resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and mechanical strength, making it a high-performance specialty material suitable for harsh environments.

II. Core Characteristics and Advantages

Excellent High Temperature Resistance:

High Vicat Softening Temperature: Our CPVC sheets have a Vicat softening temperature of 85°C - 120°C, far exceeding the lower than 85°C of ordinary PVC-U.

Maximum Operating Temperature: Long-term operating temperature up to 95°C, withstanding even higher temperatures in short periods, suitable for high-temperature working environments.

Excellent chemical corrosion resistance: Exhibits superior resistance to most chemical media, including acids, alkalis, salts, oxidants, and halogens, with corrosion resistance exceeding that of ordinary PVC and PP. It is an ideal material for manufacturing chemical storage tank linings, electroplating tanks, and waste gas treatment equipment.

Excellent fire retardant properties: Inherently flame retardant, with a limiting oxygen index (LOI) exceeding 60, achieving UL94 V-0 rating. It produces low smoke during combustion, does not generate molten droplets, and is self-extinguishing upon removal of the flame.

Good mechanical and physical properties: High rigidity, tensile strength and flexural modulus superior to ordinary PVC, low thermal conductivity, good insulation performance, dimensional stability, and extremely low water absorption.

Machinability and safety: Easily moldable through sawing, drilling, milling, turning, etc., and can be welded (hot air welding, fusion welding) or glued.

III. Main Application Areas

Due to its unique high-temperature and corrosion-resistant properties, CPVC extruded sheets are mainly used in industrial fields and special environments with stringent material performance requirements:

Chemical Corrosion Protection Industry:

Liners and structural components for chemical storage tanks, electrolytic cells, pickling tanks, and electroplating tanks.

Tower bodies and plates for chemical equipment (such as scrubbing towers, absorption towers, and drying towers).

Corrosion-resistant linings for pipes and ducts.

Environmental Protection and Wet Electronics Industry:

Scrubbing towers and chimney linings for waste gas treatment systems (such as acidic and alkaline waste gases).

Supporting frames, rollers, and tanks in semiconductor and PCB (printed circuit board) wet process equipment (due to their resistance to high-temperature acid and alkali solutions).

Other Special Applications:

Building materials with extremely high flame retardant requirements.

Components for hot spring and swimming pool equipment (chlorine resistant).

IV. Common Product Specifications

Thickness: 2mm - 50mm

Dimensions: 1000mm-2000mm (width × length, any)

Color: Usually light gray or beige, but can be customized upon request.

V. Market Positioning

CPVC extruded sheets are a representative of high-end engineering plastic sheets. They are not general-purpose materials, but rather a solution to the specific challenge of "high temperature + corrosion." Under the harsh working conditions they are applied to, their longer service life, lower maintenance costs, and higher safety and reliability give them a significant advantage in total cost of ownership (TCO).

Simply put: When high-temperature or highly corrosive environments arise that ordinary plastic sheets cannot withstand, that's where CPVC extruded sheets demonstrate their irreplaceable role.
